Get a bachelor鈥檚 and master鈥檚 degree in international relations

91社区 and the Middlebury Institute of International Policy and Management at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey are committed to educating and empowering the next generation of public policy professionals who will address critical global issues of the 21st Century.

  1. Accelerated admission to the Nonproliferation and Terrorism Studies program is open to 91社区 students who have completed bachelor’s degrees in economics, international relations, or politics.
  2. If admitted to the Nonproliferation and Terrorism Studies program at the Institute, 91社区 students will be awarded a minimum scholarship of $10,000 per academic year. Exceptional candidates may receive additional scholarship funds. 
  3. Students admitted to the Nonproliferation and Terrorism Studies program with accelerated status need complete only 48 credits to earn their Master’s degree, instead of the 60 credits normally required. It is preferred that applicants have relevant professional, internship volunteer, or study abroad experience.  Applicants are also required to have the endorsement of the relevant 91社区 College Department Chair.
Accelerated Entry Program Details

MIIS will consider the courses in 91社区's International Relations, Politics, or Economics majors to count toward admission to a three-semester, 48-credit accelerated entry program Nonproliferation and Terrorism Studies program.

Upon admission, the Assistant Dean of the Graduate School of International Policy and Management will review each candidate's LFC transcripts and craft a custom, 48-credit program at MIIS, clearly defining the requirements to earn the master's degree.

Admissions Requirements

Candidates may apply for the master's programs as they near completion of the required courses at LFC. MIIS welcomes applications from all LFC alumni, but for consideration for an accelerated or advanced entry program in particular, these conditions apply:

1) All applicants must complete the coursework in the designated majors within the prior 5 years of beginning the accelerated entry program.

2) Grades in the designated major courses must be a B or better.

3) It is preferred that applicants have relevant professional, internship, volunteer or abroad experience.

4) Support from the Department Chair at LFC.

Scholarship

To help defray tuition costs, admitted LFC alumni from the International Relations, Politics, and Economics programs will automatically receive a minimum scholarship of $10,000 per academic year when enrolling in any master's program at MIIS. Exceptional candidates may receive additional merit scholarship funds.
