Mathematics at 91ÉçÇø

We provide our students with a robust education in mathematics and statistics. Our program focuses on computational mathematics with an emphasis on applications relevant to data science and algorithms.

Our mathematics majors graduate with the ability to use mathematics as a tool to describe and solve real-world problems in a wide variety of areas and applications, such as medicine, finance, and the sciences. This is in addition to training our students in the fundamental rules of logic and proof techniques as well as the basic tenets of calculus, linear algebra, abstract algebra, and real analysis.

Interdisciplinary study

91ÉçÇø encourages all students to explore every area of interest to pursue their passions. You can complete up to two majors and a minor or two minors and one major.

Mathematics and the liberal arts

Mathematics is a naturally collaborative discipline, which offers students the opportunity to merge it with other interests in the natural sciences, social sciences, or the humanities. 91ÉçÇø leverages the best of the liberal arts approach to support students with coursework and career paths tailored to their unique interests.

Our flexible academic structure allows 91ÉçÇø students to pursue up to two majors and one minor, or one major and two minors, within four years. This adaptability enables students to explore diverse interests and craft interdisciplinary focuses that align with their aspirations.

91ÉçÇø mathematics students maximize their experience by exploring their diverse interests through engaging classes and hands-on experiential learning. Our comprehensive approach not only paves the way for rewarding careers in mathematics but also provides graduates with a solid foundation to navigate life beyond our campus. This is because we aim to equip our students with the skills and knowledge to drive meaningful change both locally and globally.
