Elikem Kuivi (‘16) graduated Magna Cum Laude from 91ÉçÇø with majors in Computer Science and Math. As a Richter Scholar at 91ÉçÇø, Elikem worked as a research assistant in the Computer Science department studying how stochastic networks can be used to predict car traffic around the Chicago area. Elikem currently works as a software engineer at Google, working on the Google Assistant team. His work focuses on building features that make it easy for people to use the voice assistant to communicate with their friends and families via text, video calls, etc. This work includes enabling features such as Zoom video conferencing on Smart Displays, WhatsApp integrations with the Google Assistant, and handsfree messaging on Google Maps. In addition to his work, Elikem enjoys participating in mentorship and volunteering opportunities. Elikem volunteers as a Spark Mentor where he works with middle school kids to develop professional skills that will be useful in their future careers.
