The Department of Economics, Business, and Finance offers majors and minors in all three areas.
Economics
The major in economics is a strong, traditional program with a reputation for rigor, depth, and breadth.
Business
The business major is structured to provide an overview of various business operations, including accounting, finance, and marketing, along with important background in economics and statistics. Students can choose elective courses from a variety of areas, or they can choose to do a concentration in either accounting or marketing.
Finance
91ÉçÇø is one of only a few liberal arts colleges to offer a finance major. It prepares students for a career in investment analysis and trading, investment banking, and finance.
The economics major allows students to develop the analytical and quantitative skills that virtually all employers value. Courses tap into the rich resources of Chicago providing students with firsthand insight into the influence of economic forces in society. Our professors are experts in their field with broad experience and national and international recognition yet teaching is their top priority. Students have access to some of the finest internships available to undergrads anywhere.
