Intercultural House
Students can check out the key by reaching out to intercultural@lakeforest.edu. I-House is a welcoming and collective space in South Campus where students can hang out, it has a fully functioning kitchen, TV, comfortable seating, and dining area in addition to a gender neutral bathroom. Student groups are welcome to reserve this space for small events.
The Interfaith Reflection Room
Located in the Mohr Student Commons, the Interfaith Reflection Room welcomes all students, faculty, and staff to practice their faith or take some time to reflect in a private environment. Our goal is to accomodate the spiritual needs of students, both religious and secular, by
providing a quiet space for prayer, meditation, and/or reflection.
Read more about the Rules of Use behind this collaborative space here.
Rosemary House
In addition to hosting the OIR staff offices, students are can reserve the Rosemary House Basement for events and gatherings using the Ad Astra Room reservation process.
First Connection Pre-orientation Program
Learn more about our pre-orientation program ! Students who identify as Black, Indigenous, Latinx, Undocumented, International, LGBTQ+, Pell-eligible and First Generation as well as allies are especially encouraged to apply.

The selected candidate(s) will work closely with the department director and staff, assisting with data collection and analysis, and supporting the implementation of OIR’s strategic pathways. Check our page for more info, the position is usually posted in August and applications close August 31st.
BRIDGE Training Program

The Office of Intercultural Relations is home to different Empowerment Groups which are identity-based student groups for students with historically marginalized backgrounds in higher education. Membership and participation in the groups is restricted to students who hold the respective identities—differentiating them from Student Organizations.
The empowerment groups operate independently of each other, with occasional collaboration. Each group has access to a set amount of funds they can request for student-organized events. Groups select a student president, treasurer, and a faculty or staff advisor at the beginning of the academic year.
List of Current Empowerment Groups
- Asian, Asian American, and Pacific Islander (AAAPI)
- Black Men's Group (BMG)
- Black Women United (BWU)
- Juntos
- Native American and Indigenous Group (NAIS)
- Neurodivergent Social Hour
- UNIDAS
- The Rainbow Network (LGBTQ+)
- Trans Social Hour
- Undocumented Students (US)
